I love the book I’m reading right now: A Trail of Heart’s Blood Wherever We Go by Robert Olmstead.  I’ve read one other of his, Coal Black Horse, that was amazing as well.  I’ll post a review here when I’m done, but for now, an appropriate quote.  Someone’s pet monkey has just died by jumping into fresh-poured concrete:

Cody looks up at Stan.

“I’m sorry about your monkey,” he says.

“Looked to me like it was his own fault,” Stan says.  “Sometimes I wondered who was chained to who.”
